God Does Not Change

Praise the Name of our Risen King Jesus the Christ.
I am writing to you today about a simple yet profound thought the Lord has placed in my heart. God does not change. The bible is plain in proclaiming this very profound reality throughout all of it’s pages. Kings and Prophets have testified that God does not change. They have written about their adversities and there many trials and sufferings and bondages. And the testimony is always the same. God does not change.
(Malachai 3:6 NKJV) For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. The fact that God does not change is what keeps us and the fact that His promises and mercies are even to a thousand generations is what keeps and preserves us. (Deuteronomy 7:9NKJV) Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.
He is a God who changes not and the fact that He changes not is among some not a very popular teaching because they preach a God that no longer communicates with His church, who in their teachings and doctrine has changed and ceased to be the God who declared to Malachai I am God and I change not. God still speaks today and so many have closed their ears off from hearing His voice and Paul warns us about this very thing.
(Hebrews 12:25-26 NKJV) 25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” To say the Lord no longer speaks from Heaven today to reveal His plans to mankind is to completely erase out several of the gifts of the Spirit mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12. One gift in particular is prophecy. Today in the church we have been fooled into believing that the Pastor has replaced the Prophet and when He preaches from the pulpit He is prophesying which in their interpretation is preaching the Word. But I believe that the gift of prophecy is an avenue or channel if you will, whereby God can speak to His church and bring instruction and direction to His church and lead and guide them.
The duty of the prophet is to speak to the church collectively and individually. Agabus the Prophet prophesied to Paul concerning His arrest and being bound at Jerusalem if he went. (Acts 21:10-11 NKJV) 10 And as we stayed many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. 11 When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’” Agabus was inspired by the Holy Ghost to prophesy to Paul and so many who dont believe in prophecy today will ask when one does prophesy and give direction and words of wisdom and knowledge and direction from God why God would need to speak to someone in this fashion when they can just read the bible and find direction. This same prophet Agabus prophesied about a famine or dearth and it would be worldwide. ( Acts 11: 27-28 NKJV) 27 And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.
Some of you reading this blog your blood pressure is about to rise and I am going to mess up your theology a bit. Some of the things you need revelation concerning in your life cannot be found in the bible. There may be some examples of men and women who have been through the same things and all have testified that God dont change, but each waited on instruction from God before they moved. Most if not all did not have a copy of the Old Testament or New Testament for that matter and had no point of reference to go by. These had to depend on God and His voice.
Today we have both the Old and New testaments as points of reference but lets be reel and speaks in terms of reality. We are facing things as the Lord’s church where we need divine direction from Heaven. In the Book of Acts the daily affairs of the church and it’s ministry to it’s communities and world have been recorded as well as the message preached. But these who preached the Kingdom and Jesus name spoke by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost and the things spoken was written down and oreserved for us and brings to us direction and establishes us in the Kingdom Work. If we will believe God’s Word we will be established and if we believe His prophets we will prosper. ( 2 Chronicles 20:20 NKJV) So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”
So many who propose that God doesnt inspire men to write by Inspiration of the Holy Ghost are leading the charge in placing thousands of articles and bible studies online but they are adament in stating for the record they dont believe God can speak to His church through a prophet or Apostle by a written epistle or letter that has in it inspired words from God. They believe that the words and I quote “THE END”, at the end of the book of Revelation signifies that God no longer speaks anymore. This is absurd and those who preach that need to quit writing and attempting to inspire there readers through what they write.
When the Apostle Paul who wrote by divine Inspiration, more books in the New Testament then any other Apostle or Prophet did wrote He did so as to give instruction to the Lord’s body and though I believe that Paul wrote to the church as a whole, was more concerned with the church He was writing too. I dont believe it crossed Paul’s mind that one day His letters would be placed in a book called the Holy Book (Bible) and would be available to believers worldwide. Paul wrote by Inspiration and also declared all scripture is given by inspiration of God ( 2 Timothy 3:16 NKJV) All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, and He also made the statement that His writings were the very commandments from the Lord ( 1 Corinthians 14:37 NKJV) If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.
I will finish this thought and continue it in part 2 of our study. We believe that the Apostle Paul wrote by inspiration and what He wrote was the very commandments of the Lord but we have never examined the sources He quoted from during His preaching and teaching, sources that oft times were secular.
Paul in (2 Timothy 3: 8 NKJV) Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith. These are the priests of Egypt who withstood Moses when confronting Pharoh. This is the only time these names were mentioned in scripture but we often quote their names and never find out what reference Paul is quoting from.
Here Paul is quoting from one of the earliest surviving citations found in the Damascus Document, dated around the 1st century BC which was an unbiblical but popular text and tradition in Paul’s day. No doubt I am positive that these were the names of the ones who withstood Moses because Paul wrote them in His inspired letter to Timothy. I also believe God still speaks today and causes men to write inspired words for the church that is profitable in matters of doctrine, reproof correction and righteous instruction.
I am one who believes God does not change and that He is ever revealing His will to man and has commited to us who believe His Spirit still distributes gifts to men words of wisdom, knowledge and prophecy. I will continue to write as He inspires me to and I will keep listening to His Mighty Voice.
